Creepy Crawly Kid Patterns
Some fascinations you never really grow out of, and the kid in me has definitely retained a soft spot for creepy crawly creatures. Scuttling beetles, fluttering moths, and wriggly worms are some of my favorite subjects because of the endless imaginings they invite. The three prints in this collection marry the slightly creepy subject with playful colors and inviting charm, inviting us all to make some inter-species friends.
“Buggin’ Out” features a menagerie of colorful insects crawling this way and that. The print is available in my Spoonflower shop on fabric, home goods, and wallpaper. It was one of the first patterns I designed and I still find myself creating new variations—so many that I now offer 11 colorways, including the dusty blue, dusty pink, neon purple, and golden yellow pictured here.
“An Apple a Day” is my homage to the half-eaten apple left absent-mindedly around the house, a familiar site to parents of young kids. While the irl version is not always a pleasant surprise, with various sections of apple, scattered seeds, and a few friendly worms, this pattern is pure sunshine.
These apples are also available in my Spoonflower shop in 8 colorways, including the blue, turquoise, mustard, and lilac included here.
The cheerful “Worm Party” fully embraces the creepiest of crawlies. This pattern evokes summer day digging in the garden, as well as channeling some Halloween fun. It’s available on Spoonflower in 4 colors, including turquoise, grape, and brown.
